Hi.
I’m in the middle of writing another Elena Collins dual timeline, but I’ll take a few moments away from the writing cave to mention my fabulous research trip last week to the Highlands. I haven’t an ounce of Scottish blood, but I love it there so much, just being there is so uplifting. I spoke to Michelle, a really helpful lady in the town hall in the place I was researching (I don’t want to give it away,) and she said something about ley lines – imaginary lines that connect significant landmarks, prehistoric sites and historic structures -and that would explain why I’m drawn to the place. I’m sure some of you can tell me how that works?
But I had a glorious time in Scotland and I’m already planning a return visit. It was icy cold and the storms came in; I climbed rocks, dragged myself through boggy fields and dark forests at midnight watching deer; I stood on beaches in a downpour. Loved it. Thanks to everyone who made it memorable and enjoyable. Off the scale.
I’m having a great time in the writing cave right now, typing away on a keyboard with half the letters missing, with the music turned up loud and three jackets on, extra socks and a bobble hat. The stuff that’s coming out of the laptop is exciting. I’m making brilliant progress. And, oh, I love this story!!
Next week, my new novel The Silver- Haired Sisterhood is out. It’s a follow up to Five French Hens, the next instalment in the story of Tess, Della, Jen, Pam and Rose. I love them all to bits, so it was great to find out where they are now.
They travel to Skye – I won’t give the plot away – and make new friends, mischief and mayhem.
There are lots of descriptions of the island, snow, Christmas revelry, the most riotous Hogmanay, and characters you’ll want to be your best friends. So if you fancy a relaxing read, full of fun and friendship, and the real meaning of sisterhood, then it’s definitely for you. Please do dive in.
But I entreat you to read between the lines, dear reader. There you’ll find messages of love, respect, sharing and caring and how we must look out for each other in times of difficulty.
Scratch that. At all times.
And on that note, can I send you my best wishes, and I’ll get back to writing the rest of this hauntingly tragic and ghostly tale….in my bobble hat.

I can’t wait to see the result of this research!!
