Dear Reader

This morning, I discovered that I have sold one million copies of my books with Boldwood. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you, and to tell you just how much that means to me.

Nine years ago, I was working as a teacher of theatre. It was my dream job and I loved it more than I can say. That was largely due to the wonderful students I had, and how much fun it was being creative, inventive and enabling others to learn.

My two children leaving home for university coincided with me being offered the chance of a promotion – less teaching, more admin – and it was an opportunity to rethink my priorities. I’d always wanted to write. So, I signed up to do a MA, to learn whatever I could about becoming a novelist. It occurred to me that people in my mother’s generation were under-represented in novels; there was a lack of older characters enjoying second chances. That thought filled my heart.

I wrote and wrote. I was on a roll. I found the best agent, I published two novels, and five years ago I was signed by Boldwood. I had an amazing editor and an incredible team to support me.

Some sixteen books and three genres later, I’ve sold a million copies.

Thank you. It means so much. My ‘golden/ silver’ novels, the Morwenna Mutton Cozy Crime series and the Elena Collins dual timelines keep me busy, and I couldn’t be happier. So, thank you. I’m editing and writing one of each as I speak.

Each day I feel blessed. For me, writing novels is a way of life. I’ll meet you between the pages.

And as ever, thank you for reading, reviewing and enjoying my books. A story without readers or listeners is a world without sunshine.
